lol mine do as well, i guess just leave them in for not as long????? i dont know.......... lol my mum says im a good cook ... yeah right!!!! hahaa.........

If you put the eggs in the pan first and let them slowly come up to a boil they wont crack as bad. The generally crack when you put a cold egg into already hot water. Also dont boil them longer than needed, that also makes them crack.

Your either cooking them too long or the water is too hot. The best way to boil an egg is let the water come to a really good rolling boil then turn off the heat put in the eggs and cover letting them cook for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Are you dropping the cold eggs into hot water? Temperature variation can cause them to crack if you do it that way....Or are you placing the eggs in the water before you apply heat?

You should let the eggs sit out of the fridge for a few minutes before you start boiling.

Place the eggs in the pan...then put in normal tap water...do not fill it up so much - you only need enough to basically cover the eggs. If you use too much water, when boiling starts the eggs will get bounced around and crack. Plus, you don't need waste energy to heat up a gallon of water to boil a few eggs, either. Use only enough water to cover the eggs (they will initially float, though) by 1/2 inch or so (if you push the egg to the bottom.

That should solve your cracking problem. When you are done boiling, immediately remove the pan, pour off the hot water, and immerse the eggs in COLD water. It will make them easier to peel.

Perfect hard boiled eggs - every time:

Put eggs in pot, put enough water to cover in pot. Sprinkle a little bit of salt in water.

Put on stove on high for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes is up, immediately drain water and place eggs in a bowl of ice & water for at least 10 minutes.

Peel. Perfect.

all you have to do is put eggs into a pan with just enough water for the eggs to show at the top. Make them come to a roaring boil (all the way on HIGH). When they get to a hard boil turn them down a notch or two, and let them boil for 10-12 minutes. I've never covered mine before.

I was told once to get the egs out when I got up to allow them to warm up a little , also a small amount ,Teaspoon of white vinegar in the water will slightly soften the shell, Info from my mum 80, cracked eggs in a eggcup Not likely !! Just some old guys 2 cents

start with cold water, just enough to cover the eggs, sprinkle salt, about a 1/2 teas. when eggs start boiling allow to boil for 10min. Dump hot water and run cold water over eggs for couple of minutes dump water cover eggs with ice. the whole shell comes off PERFECT!!!
