I am having family over this to help me get my house ready to sell. What type of easy food should I have?!

Question: Cold cuts such as sliced roast beef, ham,
and turkey. Bread, beans, potato salad,
cheese, and cake bars. Juice, coffee, and tea for that second wind. (stuffed celery is great
for a grab break while working hard, also!)

Pizza or chinese food. You can order take-out, so you don't have to worry about cooking.

Have something warm in the crockpot, like pork bbq or sloppy joes. Put bread, chips (crisps in the U.K.) and potato salad on the table. Voila!

lunch meat and fixings for sandwiches, macroni salad, raw veggies for snacks, fried chicken [cooked]. pasta and garlic bread, plenty of water, coffee, [pre cook whatever you want to serve fast, all they have to do is heat in microwave...

Turkey buffet is easy, and feeds a lot. First roast a turkey without stuffing, then serve hot or cold with cheeses, rolls and sandwich fixings and/or salad. Have fruit for dessert.

Everyone can make sandwiches, eat only cheese and fruit if they want, have salad...no worries mate. Also you get yummy leftover turkey which you can give away (makes relatives extra-tender) and/or eat yourself!

crockpot
fill it with taters, carrots, celery,a roast(if you eat meat) turn it on and you are done.

or take out is easier.........but not as tasty....

I would just do a platter of cold cuts and cheeses, condiments in bowls on the table, pickles, salads, rolls and bread, fruits, crudite and dip and some dessert snacks of some sort. Simple and everyone can just eat when they feel like it and leftovers are great to have.

Whenever we have family get togethers we have sloppy joes, chili, cold cut sandwiches, or pizza.

You can set out bread, rolls, croissants, turkey, ham, roast beef, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, mayo, etc and let people build their own sandwiches. And then just have chips, fresh fruit, and tea and soda.

This is a delicious sloppy joe recipe!

Sloppy Joes
1 lb lean ground beef
3/4 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons tomato sauce
1/4 cup mustard
2 tablespoons white vinegar
2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons dried onions, minced
1/2-1 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
--Brown ground beef and drain fat. Add rest of ingredients to beef and stir until all beef is coated and everything is combined. Let simmer until reduced and thicker.

My aunt makes great white bean chicken chili that the whole family loves!

White Bean Chili
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 large yellow onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, cubed
2 cloves garlic, minced
2-3 jalapenos, minced
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or more)
2 cups chicken stock
1 (19 ounce) can white kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1/4 cup cilantro
1 cup shredded jalapeno jack cheese
--In a large saucepan over medium heat combine the oil, onions and celery. Cook, stirring for 5 minutes. Push onions and celery to the sides, turn the heat up to medium high and add the chicken. Cook, stirring constantly for 5 minutes. Add the garlic, jalapenos, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt and cayenne. Cook, stirring for 2 minutes. Stir in stock and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir in beans and cook for 5 minutes, stirring gently. Remove from heat and stir in cilantro. Ladle into bowls and top with cheese.

Hope this helps!
