Does SEA SALT have any benefits that TABLE SALT does not have?!

Question: It is lower in sodium, not iodized, is in its natural state & not as processed as table salt. The "flakes" are also bigger than those in table salt.

lower in sodium

It is non iodized. When you toss it onto food, it spreads evenly. I think its has a nicer, less chimical taste than table salt. I wont even use table salt anymore!

sea water is where it comes from...when it is dehydrated, the salt and minerals are left...a good source for trace minerals. Yes it is very much better than regular NaCl

Sea salt does not have the added benefit that table salt gets from the iodization. Iodine is added and is a great aid for young children and helps to prevent ricketts and strengthen bones.

I do not know about the health benefits between the two but if you do not live at a beach so do not have easy access to salt water (like I do), sea salt mixed with water is great as a substitute. This can then be used for rinsing fresh seafood i.e. fish, oysters, scallops, mussels etc. or if you wish to freeze any seafood it is also great to freeze in a little of this brine as it then thaws still tasting like the sea and the item. If just frozen or rinsed in basic water it detracts from the seafood taste that all the lovely seafood has.
