Hard boiled eggs???!

Question: I brought them to eat for lunch today and am now not hungry. If they were unrefrigerated all day do they go bad?

No, they will be just fine for a couple of days. I've taken them travelling which is a very good idea because buses usually stop in places that mostly serve burgers & fries which I can't eat. I took a 3 day bus trip two years ago and took half a dozen hard boiled eggs with me and crackers & salt and they were just fine. Never refrigerated in all that time and in their shells.

The trip was from Toronto to Vancouver and took 72 hours.

Thank you for your response. I'm 70 years old. I lived through a war and didn't even know what an ice box was when I immigrated. Never put an egg in refrigerator either when we finally got one in the mid 50's. Never sick. Report It

Even now, if I need room in the fridge, I will take the eggs out to make room.
So many people have so much money and can afford to toss things out and yet they will eat food I wouldn't consider eating & never wash their hands. Report It

My mother-in-law always made Italian Easter eggs for the whole family. All boiled up one day and then baked with the pastry crosses the next and the third day the icing went on them. We picked up Saturday & ate Sunday. Report It

  • Yes. I would toss them.

Yes, hard boiled eggs should not be left out for very long. How long were they left out for? After 2 hours food will go bad and reach the temperature danger zone 40-140 degrees.

    Yes

They will definitly rotten if you leave them out. Easter eggs also do too. So if you still want your boiled egg, put it in your refrigerator.

ewww you eat your easter eggs?
I'm not sure. I think a few hours won't hurt.
