Any easy way to shred chicken?!

Question: I like making chicken enchaladas but hate shredding the chicken breasts. Any quick ideas or gadgets I can use to get this painful but tastey job done? Right now I am using two forks. Also I like to cook my own chicken breasts so boxed or premade stuff is out of the question. HELP!

ugh! i feel your pain. i hate shredding chicken at home.

i've resorted to using the food processor. just a few bursts (don't turn it all the way on or it will puree the chicken--yuck!). it's definitely not perfect because the shreds aren't long, but it's so much easier than the two fork method that i think it's worth the trade off.

Hate to say it, but the easist way I've found is with my fingers.

CHEESE GRADER!!!!!!!! (or is it graTor?) anyways who cares but that's what i would do.

I'd use forks or my fingers. The trick is to let your chicken cool for about 30 mins before shredding, that way it won't burn your fingers.

I used to shred chicken for a mexican restaurant. The best way by far is to roll the meat between your hands, like you are warming them up in the cold. It gives you nice long shreds and it's much faster and easier than using a knife. You can also check for bits of bone and tendons while you do it which is hard if you are using a knife.

Boiling for shredded meat is best I think. Let cool some, but not below room temp before shredding.
