Pop tarts as a good breakfast?!


Question: How can I convince my parents that Pop Tarts are a healthy breakfast for a hurried highschooler? Not alone - but with fruit, milk and orange juice.

So they aren't the most healthy thing, however when you are in a hurry they are easy to take with you. I would just consider the time. And as long as your eating? hey. Hahaha. Better to eat something in the morning then nothing at all.

There a quick fix that can be taken with you.
They taste good.
They have "fruit" in them.
Ya there isn't much you can say about a pop tart really.

Those are NASTY!!! Eat wheat toast w/peanut butter, and a fruit. Thats HEATHY!!!

They are sometimes healthy bcuz they have fruit stuff and they give u energy!!! cuz all of the sugar!!! but don't tell em that

They're loaded with sugar (carbohydrate) otherwise known as empty calories, so you really don't need to add fruit and orange juice (more carbohydrate and NATURAL sugar - but, because they actually have vitamins, they're definitely a LOT healthier than those toaster things). (Have you ANY idea of the shelf life of Pop Tarts - think CHEMICALS!)

I guess you could tie up your parents and have them hypnotized into believing you. Truthfully, your parents sound awfully SMART!

Well there not healthy, but just tell them you can just, grab it and have an apple with it on your way to the bus stop. And tell them some of them have strawberry jam in it, so it's just like jelly tost, only with a little more suger.

Well I don't think you can. Its not a healthy breakfast its only a fast, easy, on the go breakfast. You're much better off tasting a whole grain waffle, spreading some peanut butter on it and taking it to go.

pop tarts are not very healthy for you. Cereal bars are way better than pop tarts.

I would never eat them, I love my hi protein bars from South Beach Diet. They come in chocolate, peanutbutter and chocolate, etc and really are good! The chocolate is like a candy bar and high in protein. Over all I would say that poptarts arent going to kill you and as long as you drink some milk for protein and the fruit and juice is GREAT along with it, for a kid or teen well, I would not expect mine to just eat healthy all!! the time. Some other things are yogurt, hot pocket with eggs n stuff, and a pbj
