About honey, honey!?!
Answers: After having stored honey in the fridge, can I now take it out and store it in the cabinet? The reason I ask is that I got some new honey today and it says don't refrigerate. So the stuff in there already is it safe to take out or should I just leave it there?
take it out! it'll be fine
honey never expires!
its perfectly fine
just dont refridgerate the one that says not to
Yes, because it doesn't have to be refrigerated.
Why did you call me honey, freak?
It only says don't refrigerate so it doesn't get kind of solid from the cold. Keep it in a cabinet though.
leave it in the fridge. honey is an inverted sugar. when it has temp changes it wants to turn back into a solid. But honey should be kept at room temp.
i've never refrigerated any honey i've bought,,,,,and i love honey. dont think u need to.
Yes it will be fine if you take it out and put it in the fridge. The main reason they tell you not to refridgerate it is because it will turn hard faster.
Once a food has been refrigerated it should stay in the refrigerator or it will become a haven for bacteria. Just leave the one you have in the fridge there and the new one in the cupboard. The reason the new jar says "Do Not Refrigerate" is because Honey becomes thicker when chilled and it is harder to pour - not because of any health risk. Enjoy!
i think what it says is if its been opened you should keep it in the frig.. if it says that on the bottle.. (i think i does) then you cant
It is fine to take out of the fridge. When you refrigerate honey it tends to crystalize. As a result, it will look murky and have a different texture.
If you put it in the fridge before opening it, you can take it out and not really worry about it. Especially since it was commercial honey which was probably packaged in sterile jars. If it was opened before you put it in the fridge, I'd continue to keep it cold. The honey itself won't spoil, but it may harbor more bacteria than you are prepared to consume.
And....since it was only one day, you really have nothing to worry about.
Cheers!
It's safe to take out and store in the pantry. It may take a little while for it to warm up and make it easier to scoop or squeeze out but it will be fine. So you can take it out or leave it in. I would take it out because I like mine to flow easily.
Honey, Yes.....................
but its consistancy is probably permanently changed. It crystalizes some in the fridge.
I keep mine in the fridge (I keep EVERYTHING in there)
but the honey stays runny if you leave it out at room temperature. ( I microwave if I need runny honey :) )
Diggers in Egypt found honey in a tomb that was still edable even after all this time....I doesn't go bad for some reason. I don't know that it was still gooey but it did not have bad bacteria growing in/on it & it wasn't breaking down (with rot............because of the absence of bad bacteria.....duh)
