Baby carrots perishable?!

Question: Hmm... I left a package of baby carrots on the counter in a ziplock baggie overnight... By accident of course...

They're the cut and washed pre-packaged kind.

Think they're okay to eat still? They look okay.. smell okay... but the last thing I need is food poisoning.

As long as they're still crispy and not rubbery or slimey, I think they'd be ok to eat.

Try just a bite of one, and if it tastes ok, then they're fine. If they taste funny at all, just toss em. It's not worth getting sick over.

Everything edible is perishable, it's just a matter of time. Carrots can be left out or stored in the refrigerator, your choice. I no longer buy the cut and pre-washed pre-packaged as in the tiny or miniature carrots as I don't find they have very much flavour at all and it only takes a minute to peel & cut a carrot. I keep mine in the vegetable crisper and they last for weeks.

Sure they are okay, think about it, they were in the ground before you got them from the store. As long as they didn't go through extreme temperature changes, they should be fine.

They're fine...just wash well before eating and store the rest in the fridge in a plastic bag.

They should be fine. How is that any different really from the ones sitting out at the grocery?
