Organic rice vs. regular rice what's the difference???!
Answers: Organic rice has been grown or reared without the use of pesticides or artificial chemicals/products. this means they have been grown using natural methods of preventing disease or infection on land without the use of artifical fertilisers.
Organic rice was produced without the use of pesticides.
Anything organic has been grown without any chemicals to help it grow and keep pests away etc... Mainly it has to do with how it was grown, but I find Organic stuff to be a little more expensive and it is said to be healthier but any other real rice is healthy enough especially plain white rice.

CANCER and pollution: Organic is natural and not putting as many chemicals in your body.
I believe they don't use pesticides on organic rice but I do know how it is fertilized. I don't spend extra money on anything organic at all but my daughter in law buys everything she sees if it's labelled organic. Therefore, I have tried organic foods. I don't find any difference at all in the flavour or texture.
Is it better for me? I don't know that either and I come from a long line of long lived people who only knew organic food until 50 years ago when they started using pesticides. Maybe that's why so many of them lived into their 100's. My mother is 89 and I'm 70 and we are both in good health. Perhaps it's in the genes.
Organic doesn't have pestcides. There is short grain = very sticky like sushi rice, medium grain and long grain = sorta fluuffy to very fluffy. Then there is brown rice or with the jacket on versus white types. The whole grain has more flavor, takes longer to cook and is probably better for you.
Organically produced products are those that are produced without chemical fertilizers, fungicides, and pesticides. The fields that the plants are grown in cannot have had these chemicals used on them for the past 3 years. The results of regular farming are slightly obvious:
1. pesticides are made to kill animals (humans are animals).
2. fertilizers are made from nasty chemicals or those that use petroleum or non Earth-friendly products.
Rice uses tons of water that could be used for other things whether the farming is organic or not. The natural fertilizers will wash down the Mississippi river just the same and cause some ecosystem damage as the chemical fertilizers. Organic pesticides are of less impact to the environment and the fertilizers do not have the same reliance on fossil fuels as do the conventional ones. The bottom line is this, the end product is a grain of rice. It doesn't matter whether the rice is organic or not, it is still about the same grain of rice. You will pay more for the more sustainably grown rice without all of the nasty pesticides. If you have the money, buy it. It is healthier and better on the environment. Remember, the health benefit is not in the actual rice itself, but the presence or lack of pesticides that are designed for one purpose: to kill.
