Why are the Japanese slim as a swan's neck, while the Americans are are more like cows, with exceptions of!
Answers: course? It was pointed out in a previous answer that the Japanese use Stevia to sweeten their coke. Now doesn't that make good sense? Some Americans don't even know what Stevia is, as ridiculous as that may sound.
I don't know what Stevia is ............. and since everyone doesn't know everything, including you ........ its not ridiculous. Don't hate, educate!
Because lots of us Americans are lazy and careless.
Especially when it comes to our kids, when I see people constantly letting their children eat McDonalds I want to slap their parents because that's basically child abuse. Some people disgust me with their carelessness.
I think there are more slim Japanese people because of their culture, they seem to be more disciplined and have more self-control.

Some people dont like Coke. And Im more worried about the acid in Coke. It can go through metal if you let it sit.
because they eat less. also it's crowded and hard to drive there so many many people walk! Americans have everything so easy that's why they're lazy and bigger.
acctully, there can be some skinny americans and some overwieght japanese, but it may have to do with the foods we eat, and our ansestors, family.
One word--- "sumo"
Having lived in Japan their diet is so much different then ours.They eat lots more fish and rice at most meals.And when I was there they walked a lot more than we do in general.

over all better diet, more fresh vegs. but they are catching up to use with all the fast food.
The basic diet is very different. Many foods are steamed or boiled, small portions, very little sauces are used except for dipping (not thick gravies to pour over foods), snacks are wholesome and nutritious, usually dried legumes, fruits & vetegable. Seafoods & Meats are steamed, lightly sauteed. Fruit, vegetable & seafood are a large part of the diet.
As well, the bones are much finer in the East than in Western cultures.

Most of this is due to diet, for instance, America has McDonnalds with the fat burger and extra greasy fries, and even though japan has McDonalds also, they do not have the same menu, it is extremely important to them to be healthy, as to the chinese as well. all of their food is based on fish, which is good for you, rice which is their grain, and veggies, which are usually picked up daily at the market. Deserts there are also different than ours, most of their desert is based around fruits and veggies also. Unlike america where we love chocolate cake and things that are deep fried. Those T.V. dinners don't help much either. The tea that the Japanese drink is also another thing that helps the matabolism speed up and can be seen almost as a "snack" to them.

It's down to diet-quality and portion sizes. The Japanese have one of the healthiest diets in the world; not only are obesity and obesity-related health conditions a rarity there, but so are other health problems, such as breast cancer. In comparison, the USA is home to countless forms of junk food and the most massive food portion-sizes I have ever seen, even in comparison to the UK, which has growing obesity problems of its own. I'm not sure how easy it is for low-income families to lead a healthy life in certain parts of the US either, when junk food is cheap and everywhere, education on healthy living is scarce and there is not much of an opportunity for sufficient daily exercise.
