Can somebody explain to me why taking their kids out to a Macdonalds is considered A TREAT!!!!?!

Question: These places should be banned and parents arrested for taking them in to eat all that fat and sugar. A TREAT why?

Sad! It is!
Once every couple of months? Maybe!
O.K! I could get that! (understand)

But the "More" the "Parents" bring them, the "More" they want it!
I don't know about you, but I feel Parents, "these days" are so damn lazy!

God help them and their children!

Type 2 Diabetes is rampant! (once called ADULT ON-SET Diabetes) (normally after 30)

Now "They" are getting this at 10?

Sad, Sad, and SAD!

Your nasty "answerer's"? (Bless)
Kids are "SCREAMING" now and "THEY" still do not have a clue!
How Sad!
You are right! They do not want to know!
XO

It's a treat because kids dont get it very often, it's like when a parent gives their child candy.

I personally don't think people should get arrested because since it's a treat, the kids aren't getting it all the time.

it is a treat just like candy is, as long as it is not a daily event it should be fine.

They're obviously still around because the general public likes them enough to keep them in business. Who are you to judge what other people do with their own children?

Because a toy comes with a Happy Meal. That's the only thing my son really wants when he gets McDonalds. I end up eating the fries LOL

its considered a TREAT because every now and then they can go there and eat these things that are not so good for you.... thats why... its like giving your child sweets or candy as a TREAT .... a TREAT meaning something you only get SOMETIMES ...just coz a kid has a burger and fries OCCASIONALY does not mean the parents need arresting lol.... its different if thats all the kid eats, but if they are eating a good stable diet than having a macdonalds on occasions isnt going to harm them is it?

It's McDonald's and they will NOT be arrested for that so get over it. And the other posters are right.

i totally agree, i dont have children but if i did i dont think id be encouraging them to go there, however i think its ok now and again aslong as you let them know that places like these arnt healthy. kids see it as a fun place to be and if they dont go there much (which is indeed a good thing) then they will see it as a treat that they only get 'as a treat' its fine to eat unhea;thy foods now and again aslong as it isnt a regular thing in their diet

Hear hear!! never understood how that sh!t is a treat! its not even nice if I eat that cr@p I feel all greasy and uncomfortable!!

yes, because its good and fun, AND you might get a toy!!

It's not so bad now that they have the healthier meal options, such as the pasta zoo, apple, and milk (i just don't get her the flavoured straw)
I think it is definatly bad if you're taking your kids there on a regular basis and they're eating cheeseburgers and fries all the time - that's incredibaly bad for the child.

They put sugar in their hamburgers and the taste is perfect for kids. But it is the worst diet choice!

It's a treat because although it's bad for you

IT DOES TASTE GOOD.

Very good. It's a treat cos it's something your not allowed everyday, and you get a toy. How lovely.

because nothing is bad for you if you eat in moderation,
our bodys need fat, sugar. salt, do you know what happens if you drink lots of water i mean lots you can die because you washout all the salt in your body,
so even though its crap it can be good for you

yeah i agree its rubbish

Its really unhealthy and their probably killin us but its seen as a treat because it tastes so nice and everyone loves it.

>Can somebody explain to me why taking their kids out to a Macdonalds is considered A TREAT!!!!?

I guess these are people who just aren't familiar with any better food. Which limits their daily diet to cheetos and coke, but let's face it, there ARE a lot of people who live on basically cheetos and coke.

Its not a treat its just laziness from parents. but as most parents these days are kids themselves they don't know any better.

I think arresting them is a bit far, but i generally agree with you. It should really be a treat, as in, you don't go very often. Instead, parents use it as a reward, a way to get them to be quiet, a too-easy dinner... McDonald's advertise to children so much they think they should eat there all the time. Then the kids whine til the parents give in.

Its sad that you feel that parents should be arrested for taking their kids to MacDonalds. A treat is deemed as indulging ourselves in something that we wouldn't do all the time.. Children love all that MacDonalds have to offer, i.e. activities and novelty bags. I have to say that they do lots of healthy options nowadays. So give it a try, you might be surprised.

yeah but its alright if you only have it for a treat . i only go once a year .but most people think a treats once or twice a week, its only once a year for me though .

Prossably effective propagand-uhh (read: "commercials") and addictive additives! (and a clown-mascott instead of a camel.)

Consider it a treat for MOM, she doesn't have to cook the meal,do the dishes or wipe the counters & if she's really lucky the kids will play for 1/2 hour w/o an argument. Just a tiny break for her. Please leave the police outside the establishment. Thank you Grandma

I wouldn't put it that far. That would be a scary country to live in. Freedom and civil liberties are sacred. Adults have the right to destroy their bodies if that's what they want to do. However, parents shoud never give a child Mcdonalds, or soda, or heavily processed junk food, or anything like that. When a child gets these things at a young age, they develop a taste for them. A person who would give that to their child is just a bad parent. How can you not care about your child's health?

well every once in a while is still ok just not everyday

because everyone is doing it. what could be wrong with evreyone eating crap?
