you probably dont like how licorice tastes. alot of people dont. which is why they come out with red licorice, which isnt really licorice, but a cherry or strawberry candy that looks like licorice.

edit: licorice is a plant. the roots of the plant have a sweet taste to it, and they make candy out of the roots. cherry and strawberry licorice, is made from the respective fruits, added with sugar and looks like licorice candy. "root" beer is made from licorice roots as well.

The black candies are licorice. Either you like it or you don't.

Edit: Red licorice isn't a true licorice at all. It's strawberry or cherry-flavored.

Further edit: Licorice, Glycyrrhza glabra, is a perennial in the pulse family that is grown for its taproot. Licorice grows wild in Southern and Central Europe and parts of Asia. It is also known as licorice root, liquorice, and sweetroot. Anise or aniseed, Pimpinella anisum, has a similar flavor to licorice, but is a completely separate plant from a different family. However, since aniseed oil is often used to enhance the flavor of licorice candy, distinguishing the flavors can be difficult.

If you don't care for licorice candy, then you will also dislike anise-flavored products, from candy to cookies to alcohol, as well as the vegetable fennel.

it is black licorice and i kinda like it

aren't the black flavour meant to be licorice flavoured?

With out a doubt,it Do!...LOL

'DO it has somethin to do with racism?"

Oh yea, that's the answer. Isn't you smart!

I was going to say licorice until I saw your updated Q....

Can you tell us a specific brand or where you got it so that we can better understand what you are talking about or maybe try it?

wt* well black candy no not racism kind...i've never heard of a black candy...

you could always use it as a straw

I dont really know how to answer but I will give it a shot!
Probably b/c the ingredients to make cherry strawberry and blueberry are strictly fruit flavored. The ingredients to make dark candy (other than chocolate) has no fruit or any natural food to replicate a taste to. So the ingredients are factory- made and taste bitter to most. And humans tend to like fruit-flavored snacks and chocolate. That's why bitter tasting dark candies dont seem to last long on the market. EDIT: Anyways I was trying to help you out. You obviously cant get a logical answer cuz you dont even have a logical MIND. Racism?!! Omg. Now thats really a WTF??!!

o.k.

It's the Glycyrrhizic acid/Glycyrrhiza glabra in black Licorice that gives it that brutal taste, like someone else said"either you like it or you don't" and I DON'T :)

I'm not fond of Licorice, either...

Yeah - It's the licorice and No - I do not think it is Racism, since Guiness Dark tastes sooooooo Good!!

They also have a liquor called Sambuco(misspell?) that is Licorice.

....and isn't the drink that 20-somethings like, called "Yeager Meister," a licorice-based drink?

Different Strokes I guess.
:

It has "bitter root" in it.That's what makes it taste so good.

if you were to take molasses and concentrate it that is black candy and its like a lot of things you either like it or you don't
