How long can you drink milk after the 'sell by date'?!

Question: Say it says "sell by 1/31", how long until it goes bad?

Answers: Say it says "sell by 1/31", how long until it goes bad?

If the milk has not been opened, it will last until it smells sour. Otherwise, I would not drink it past another day.

it should be fine, but if it smells then throw it out.

As long as it smells and tastes good.

Use the age-old tactic: smell it. If it's fine, taste a little bit.

I've found that fat-free milk goes bad first. Organic milk also seems to last longer than regular milk -- maybe it's the hormones in the milk that make it expire faster.

I just throw it away

The sell by date is just the date that stores are required to get it off their shelves, milk is usually good for about a week after the sell by date, but also make sure to smell it and if it smells ok than it is fine.

sell by means you cant buy it anymore not expire because if it expires on the day you buy it then you cant drink it mostly its 7 days after you see the sell by date

I think its good for one more day. I think you can still drink it. I would! I would say 2 to 3 days.

You can drink it until it smells off. I've had milk last 2 1/2 weeks after sell by date. In the summer, though, milk often doesn't last more than 4-5 days past sell by date.
