How do they make foie gras?!
Answers: I've heard it is really cruel. What do they actually do to make it?
You are going to feel mighty sick now. They force feed the poor creatures by putting a plastic funnel down their throats and pouring corn in until their liver is extensively swollen, they do this over a number of weeks. Then when they can't walk through the pain and the weight, they kill them by wringing their necks.
You really really don't want to know, trust me...
I did warn you!!!!
They force feed the birds by sticking a funnel in their mouths and ramming bird food down it.
and no I am not joking ...it's a sick practise.
they force feed the bird until its liver is about to burst...its wicked!!
no longer eat this, banned from my lips forever and a day.
Foie gras [(Which is French for "fat liver") is the liver of a duck or a goose that has been specially fattened by gavage.
Gavage is a special feed that is force fed to the animal to cause it to grow quickly and large , especially the liver
They (mainly the French) force feed ducks and geese through a pipe which is stuck down their throats, grain then is poured into a funnel down into the pipe, this makes the liver ( foie ) enlarge through overwork.
It's somthing sick cheese eating french surrender monkeys eat.
Curios Steve is correct.
force feed a bird with a funnel and corn ,not very nice im sure ill never try it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Traditionally it is made by force feeding the geese til their livers are huge. They are now making a lot more ethical foie gras where the birds are not actually force fed, but I believe the quality of i is not so good. I don't eat it at all, I think it is gross.
I'm glad I stopped by here and read this!! I had noooo idea and will NEVER eat this again. That is just terrible!!
All lot of people out there make theirs out of the fowl that they temselves have shot. It is wild and better. So don`t think that all foirgras are forced, and guvage is a large tube <used for forced feeding>.
