Usually when a cup measure is indicated it would not matter what size the cup as long as other ingredients measured in cups all used the same cup!

As far as I know, the "cup", "pint", "gallon" measurements are the same in the U.S. and the U.K. We inherited them from you!

Sorry I'm no help with the cups as I'm looking for an answer too; but to the previous answerer: a US gallon is definitely larger than a UK gallon, we measure most dry food by weight not cups, and you inherited our language but that's not quite the same anymore either! :)
