Pancake Tuesday?!
For as long as I can remember we've had to go over my grandmother's house to eat pancakes...for those who do have it, where did it originate from?
Answers: Does anyone else have a pancake tuesday each year?

lol yes, we've done that every year too.
Pancake tuesday is always a tradition.
Pancake day is shrove tuesday.
Originally it was to use up all the milk and eggs before fasting for 40 days.
It's part of the biblical story!

Everyone I know does pancake day, except me because I always forget when it is.
It's originally a christian thing, shrove Tuesday is the start of lent, where you are supposed to fast for 40 days before Easter (although now most people just give up chocolate or smoking or rollerblading or whatever). So you had to use up flour, eggs, fat, etc. before lent started, otherwise it would go bad before lent finished.
I grew up in an atheist family, but we always had pancakes on shrove Tuesday because it's traditional.
One of my cats had a kitten on shrove Tuesday, so my dad called it pancake. Then it fell into the foundations of our house extension. Oops :-)
No but we had to eat pancakes for a week when I was a kid. They are so good that we never got tired of them.

I had never heard of Shrove Tuesday before driving by the Methodist church. Thanks for the question so I had easy access to an explanation! :)
sounds like it is just your family that does this I have never heard of it but it does sound like a good time for your family to bond with each other!
