Food Stamps?!
Answers: I am about to apply for food stamps but i heard that they do a house check before they give them to you. Does anyone know what it is that they are looking for when they come to your house?
I know this is weird but its true. They check to make sure that all the children in ur home have their own bed....i know it sounds unrelated but its true. Then they just look around to make sure it is not completley unsanitary and also that ur not chillin with a Lexsis and a plasma tv and are requesting food stamps. good luck u should be fine they are actuallly fairly lax.
they are looking for general cleanliness and everything in working order. the cleaner the better. the stove works,the front door isn't missing, No holes in the wall.
I have never heard of that but IDK what state you're in :(
I live in Md. and was on foodstamps, no one ever checked me out or anything. I've never heard of that unless they are suspicious of something.
I guess it depends where you live, I live in Central California and all we do is go to the welfare place and like 9 in the morning, fill out paperwork, turn it in and get an appointment then go back with house bills and SS# of all the people living with us and then they tell us what we're gonna get-if it's cash,foodstamps or both and they hand us a card. that easy.
i lived in FL. and received food stamps for a month, i didn't have any house check.
