Is moldy cheese safe to eat (if you cut off the mold)?!


Question: I have a big block of chedder with blue mold patches - I cut off all the surface area, but is it still safe to eat? Or should I throw it away?

Chop off the chunk you want to use, trim off the mould and any hard layer an use.
I do it all of the time.

I also think it gets tastier.

ya u just have to cut of the mold and when u get it all of then take a chunck of cheese u want... the cheese that isnt on the outside isnt affected toa air because t he outside is there in front of it... but ya it is safe to eat

ya know, i just did this the other day. i had some swiss cheese that was not 'out of date' yet but a part of one slice had turned moldy. i just took that one part off and prayed to God i didnt get sick. you'll be fine. just tear it off and eat the rest.
