Strange chocolate question.?!
Answers: Do you think Hersheys chocolate smells funny? It tastes bad and smells bad... its so cheap - I wonder why people eat it. Blah.
The reason Hershey's doesn't taste like many other chocolates is because they use a lot less sugar in it, but it's not the usual "semi-sweet" that other low sugar chocolates are. That's their whole thing... they've got a patent on it. That's also why it's cheaper.

umm no its yummy, i eat everything from hersheys too godiva, and you can telll a differance but it doesn't smell bad

You should also try Ethel M's chocolate. I love their chocolate. I'm ok with Hershey's I honestly don't have a problem with them, but I have heard common complaints about the chocolate- especially from people from Europe- I love the chocolate from Europe- I had a friend bring back chocolate form Holland once, it was the best!
I like the dark chocolate hersheys...I guess it makes a good quick cheap fix when I am really craving it. Other wise I make my own chocolate triffles at home.
