Question: Whenever I drink milk or eat yogurt or ice cream, I get a painful lump in my throat and esophagus that feels a bit like heartburn. It only happens when I drink milk. The lump hurts and I produce a lot of phlegm. Why does this happen and what can I do to stop it?

With the phlegm, it might be a mild allergy reaction.

sounds like you might be lactose intollerant or have an ulcer, neither should be played around with. go to the dr ASAP
