the harder it is to give up the better. Go for the candy for a month . You can do it.
sounds like candy should be your choice. the sacrifice should not be one thats easy.
give up something that will be hard for you. after all it is supposed to be a sacrifice. i am giving up candy bc i eat it ALOT and in the past i've given up alcohol and pizza. many of the things college students survive on.
Lent is a time in your life in which you give up something valued by you. It doesn't have to be a item it could be a word like cussing or a favorite tv show. If you are a sport's man give up a sport you like. A drinker give up beer. It really depends on your lifestyle and how you take on lent to what you give up for God.
Religion.
Instead of giving up something for Lent, I have started to do something different to make myself a better person last couple years. Examples-- having more patience, try to ease up on my OCDs so not so up-tight about them (very hard), pray for other that I know are in need of guidance.
Why not LENT!
Skydiving.
Give up sweets but that's really between you and your God.
nfd
give up the candy
How about soccer since you like it so much! :)
Look at your bad habits.
Are you cynical?
Are you sarcastic?
Do you gossip?
Find the one bad habit that hurts your relationship with God the most.
Work on that bad habit during Lent and then when Lent is over keep working on it.
With love in Christ.
