i have had the same Cuisinart food processor for about 15 years now and use it all the time. it has never needed any service at all. i don't know the prices of them today but would highly recommend it. (the particular model that i own is DLC-7 Super Pro)
I have one but I never use it - I will star this though in the hopes that some good contact may have information that you are seeking.
Have a great day!

Invest in a Kenwood, expensive but definately the best
philips food processors are the best. way better than kenwood. i would suggest hr7753
I had a Phillips for years and it gave up the ghost at christmas so my daughters and son clubbed together and bought me a Ken Wood it has loads of different blades and functions also the blender is a permanent fixture so you can use it at the same time I have seen one in the Argos catalogue priced at £169:00 dear i know but as have problems with my hands now and have trouble holding things so it is a god send I dont usually advertise products but i will say if anything goes wrong with this machine i would replace it with the same make.

I absolutely love my KitchenAid! It's the UltraPower. I use it all the time. Dressings, sauces, dough, and with the attachments (bought separately) I shred my own cheese which is cheaper, made pasta, and ground meats, and made sausage. The only downside is that it's heck to wash it by hand, you really want a dishwasher. I've had mine now for over 10 years and it's still a workhorse! No problems, it was so worth the investment.
