It's oil and sugar...but I've only made it by popping the corn in a pan on the stove top...never did it as a coating. I'm doubtful that would give you the same results.

This is what I do....

In a medium sauce pan (needs cover) place oil in pan and add about 4 or 5 tablespoons of kernels. Just when the corn starts to pop...add 3 tablespoons of sugar...cover and shake continuously over flame until popping stops. The sugar wants to burn so be careful...I've burned my pan in the past...so you should use an old one to experiment with. Good luck.

you need to pop it in something that pops the kernels in oil, and simply add sugar to the oil. it's bad for you but it's soooo good :]

You cannot add sugar to dry popper. Sorry, But cook a sugar syrup and of 1 c sugar white or brown, 1/4 c water, stir until it boils, then stir no more, cont. until when you dip a spoon in and raise it up trailing a little syrup. Do this repeatedly until when the syrup stops, it spins a 7" long thread. Not brain science, dont need a ruler! Then pour over corn in a large bowl, toss around careful of your hands...so hot. Pour it out on to a cookie sheet that has been Pam sprayed pan. Cool and eat.
