Is juicing really good for you. Isnt the goodness left behind in the fibre and pulp?!
Answers: No it's bad. People aren't meant to live on juice alone. Juices have a lot of calories first of all. A tall glass of orange juice can have almost 300 calories so you are much better off eating the oranges as they will actually fill you up more. Secondly you won't get all of your vitamins and amino acids from just juices especially only fruit juices.
I usually juice an orange (or 2) and then eat the insides.... :)
Yes you are right. Juicing produces a sugar water solution where the rest of the fruit provides most of the vitamins and fibre. Juicing is a lazyman's fruit.
yah most of the godness is left behind ur right dear
Ya can squeeze my lemon any time bud, just make sure ya 'spit out' the PIPS after!......
Juicing is good not exceeding the recommended amount...high in sugar but true, the fibers/pulp is good for the digestive tract and studies have shown that it can help stabilize blood sugar levels, absorb fat, help with bowel movement, and more.
Also, the skin of certain fruits, like apples, are packed with nutrients - more than it's inner core, so juice/grind the skin as well...an apple a day keeps the doc away ;)
In addition, seeds of certain fruits are beneficial.
It's good in the sense that it's not bad and in the sense that the juice of the fruit still has health benefits (vitamins etc.). However, you are right in assuming that the whole fruit contains far more goodness than just the juice - extra fibre, vitamins, which is why smoothies, provided they don't hae too many added fatty ingredients, are considered so healthy. To make a healthy smoothie, avoid yoghurt; just blend the fruit with a a small amount of milk, or alternatively water or apple juice.
Some people like the pulp, so you can leave the pulp in the drink.
Your only supposed to juice up to twice a day and its only instead of buying fruit juice which contain sugar
Jason vale the juice master says that most of our bodies have been starved of water and vits that you get from fresh fruit and veg so now just eating it isn't enough to repair the damage and get the water straight to the cells where it is needed because if you eat the fruit or veg u need to digest it and take out anything that's not good for u but juicing does that process for you. don't know if its true or not but i will be giving it a go soon.
the pulp and fibre dont throw it away add them to fruit pies or veggie pies eg of you are making a chicken pie with gravy add the veggie pulps and fibres .
