Ferret in the freezer?!

Question: I live with my brother-in-law, and he stores a dead ferret in our fridge's freezer, is that safe? It's wrapped in a bag, and the bag is inside a box, but I cringe every time I have to eat frozen food because of it. Please tell me this is not safe, so I have an argument to toss it out of there.

It's not healthy, not safe and kinda creepy. He must be an idiot. Not only that it takes up room that food could fit in. Bury the Ferret, (or your brother-in-law) your choice, and defrost and disinfect the fridge/freezer...your sister should be on your side....unless she's already sick from it. GET rid of it, it's unsanitary and unhealthy.

This is not very safe unless the ferret is sterile - ask him to put in an esky or buy a small freezer >$50 to put it in.

it's not safe because it's not a food. frozen or not you don't store dead animals near food, alright? not to mention it's quite disturbing.
let's say you were a restaurant what would the health inspectors say if they would find a ferret in your freezer? they would shut that place down. so it's not alright to do that stuff at home either. there should be like a simple rule: no dead animals in the freezer.

It can be safe, it depends on how well it is contained.

Generally it is not a good idea to store non-food items in food fridges and freezers, there is simply too much risk of cross-contamination. That alone should be enough to start start an argument because what is more important, a dead ferret or the health of everyone who eats food from that freezer?

Is there a reason why he does this anyway?

NOT a good idea not safe. i would tell him to buy another freezer defrost that one and clean it and put baking soda in there. why doesn't he just bury the dead old pet

WHAT THE HELL IS HE PLAYING AT A NORMAL PERSONS DONT PUT THINGS LIKE THAT IN FREEZERS I SUGGEST YOU COLLECT THEM AND PUT THEM ON THE FIRE AND BURN THEM OR BURY THEM

It is not safe, your food will smell like ferret,it's a bad idea dead animals done belong there unless its chicken and other meat you buy,and your brother is DISGUSTING!!!
