How do i make hard boiled eggs for egg salad?!
Answers: everytime i make hard boiled eggs for egg salad or deviled eggs, i peel them and half the egg white comes off with th shell..... not fun when i have to make 5 lbs of macaroni salad....
i have the same problem, i cook them and peel them under warm water.....
Put them in cold water for a minute or two before you peel them.
boil them until the shell cracks in the water, then use cold water to peel the shell off, thats what i do and it works only the shell comes off
I put salt in the water, bring it to a boil, put in the eggs, and take them out exactly 22 min. later. They've come out perfect all the time.
Get Grade A eggs or jumbo
edit, you guys are mean. You made me cry 3 thumbs down
What your experiencing is caused by using eggs that are too fresh for hard boiling. For easy peel hard boiled eggs you want to use eggs that are between 7 & 10 days old.

wow sounds like you need to let it cool more.
Boil them for 22 minutes. Let them cool for about 5mins.
Then peel carefully.
Ive never had that problem before.
Good Luck x
maybe you are not letting them set long enough after you cooik them. Try putting them in cold water a few times...each time let them stay in the water for 10 minutes.
They have to be completly cool before you take the shells off of them.
Good luck!
Put the eggs in a pan and cover with cold water. Put them on to boil, and as soon as the water is boiling, remove them from the heat and cover the pan with a close-fitting lid. Let sit for 15-20 minutes, 20 if the eggs are extra big. This will keep the "grey ring" from forming around the yolk.
Then, drain off the water, jiggle the eggs in the pan to break the shells and fill the pan with cold water. Let sit for a few minutes. The cold water will cause the eggs to shrink back from the shells and make them much easier to peel. If you have more than six eggs, you'll need to change the cold water once or twice more or it will get warm too fast.
put room temp. eggs into tap water and bring to boil. let boil for 10 minutes and then rinse in cold water. let them cool dwn in water or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes. tap egg on bench and then roll on bench until all egg shell is cracked then remove shell. most of the time you should get whole egg without waste.
