Can you describe me an economical way to spend time in the Kitchen?!

Question: I've recently started to try out recipes and invent some of my own. It's fun and all, esp. when the food comes out good.
But in the end I'm stuck with a load of dishes to do, the Kitchen's a mess and the meal is all eaten up in a few minutes.

It seems unfair to spend half the day cooking for just one meal or so.
What would you recommend in order to save time in the Kitchen?

when i made bread yesterday my lady asked me why i made 9 loaves , she thought this was excessive. i told her i only made 1 mess , heated the oven 1 time . she thought about this for 1 second . you can freeze most meals . i rarely make enough for 1 meal now . i cook less oftwen but i cook a heckuva lot more , i also save a lot of money , have more free time too do things besides cook + clean { although in truth she cleans up after me quite often }. we buy in bulk + the mopre i do it the more spending money i have for other things

Try making a meal that has multiple portions that you can freeze and reheat later on, it will cut down the amount of dishes in the long run. You can also try to make one-pot dishes that cook all day like stews and such.

I don't think anyone enjoys doing the dishes, I certainly don't, but it's the price to pay for having fun in the kitchen!

buy a dishwasher

When I cook I usually have the dishwasher open - especially if I am making a big meal...then as I cook and use dishes & utensils, I rinse them off right away and put them right into the dishwasher and not let them sit in the sink...when it's full I start it up...you can save a lot of time this way...
