No, it is not raw. Eat it as you please

I think its cooked and cured.

no it's already been cured and cooked.

Yep, curred and cooked. The brand of course determines the quality. Cheapo Walmart stuff is nasty, Boars Head and other finer ones are great.

It's a cured meat, done alot like a jerkey! It's not raw...so you don't have to worry about getting sick!

Not cooked !! Salted and dried.

You don't have to cook things (heat) in order for them not to be raw.. stuff can be pickled , cured , freezedried and be considered 'not raw' .

A salami has never seen a flame or a cooking pot before it ends up on your plate. (if that is indeed your question)

Where i live we tend not to mince up the meat for curing but use the whole leg

Salami is not raw, but it is not cooked.

It's a traditional Italian meat that has been salted and cured in sausage skins to preserve it for long periods of time. It was developed before refrigeration enabled people to keep fresh meat like we do today in many places. The word for salt in Romance languages, like Italian, is sal, so sal-ami is preserved salted meat. The amount of fat in it depends on the grade of meat. Sometimes salami is smoked. There are several styles of salami from different regions in Italy. Other countries have similar style of salted and cured meats, too.

Yeah, salami is raw meat that's been flavoured and cured.

no, it's not raw, it's cooked and cured beef.

Sounds like you've been eating some cheap cr@p.

Salami is not raw - it is "cured meat" - try "Chorizo" it's really nice - I don't know if it's correct - but I pronounce it :

Choritho. Of course it's your taste, but try a few different ones and hopefully you will change your mind there are lots of good salamis out there. ..........Enjoy.

no its cooked first then its cooled down its a bit like making your own brawn but after its cooked the factory compresses it.

Salami, Salami, Bologna, The magic words of a child in the 40s, 50s, and also a meat of all the parts you don't want to know what are in them , but salami is smoked and spiced.
