Cheque Please - Restaurant?!
Or is it "check please", that go check how much i owe you?
Answers: Why do we say it, I know to ask for the receipt on how much to pay, but why "cheque please", we are not asking for the cheque are we? I think it is been around for many many years maybe before cheques.

HM, as far as I know, at least in America, if you ask the waiter/waitress for the "Check please," you are asking him or her to bring you your check, which can also be called a bill. I'm not sure what you mean or if my answer is relevant.
At least in America it can be called a bill or a check.
I always ask for the "bill".!
This is the same meaning as " bill please" in American English. British English uses "cheque please". This is what I know.
