Red Velvet Cake and Cream cheese frosting.? I have never tasted?!
Answers: this cake before and it has buttermilk & vinegar in it. Will the cream cheese frosting be too zingy on the cake maybe I should just do the plain white frosting the recipes suggest? Your opinion please! Thank You.
Red Velvet Cake is like a chocolate cake - the buttermilk and vinegar actually help with the red color and they do not make the cake itself tangy. The cream cheese frosting is necessary for a traditional red velvet cake - just like it is for a carrot cake! Anyone who thinks it is ok to just use a white frosting has no idea what they are talking about...

i would do the white frosting cream cheese icing is a bit bitter to me i would do the white icing and you could add a flavor if you want use the liqued flavor only 1 teaspoon for every 12 oz of icing
red velvet always has cream cheese icing so i think you should go w/ it.
