Question: just wondering how popular this mexican delicacy is...thanks

Answers: just wondering how popular this mexican delicacy is...thanks

I live in Austin and am not a native, but as the saying goes, "I got here as soon as I could!". I don't eat tortillas, except in sausage wraps, which are usually wheat tortillas. However, like most folks here, I'm obsessed with tortilla chips made from corn tortillas, and eaten with an infinite variety of salsas. I have never been so excited with a cuisine as I am here. I like to say "if it wasn't for Mexico and Mesquite smoked ribs, we wouldn't have a cuisine or a culture.

I have not got an idea what a tortilla is, is it something like a pancake with a filling:)

I use wraps for a million things!

Um...pretty sure the tortilla is not just a Mexican delicacy.......
It was also made with meals by the Inca, Mayan, and Aztec people.
As well as Asians and Mediterranean peoples.

I am of German origin and I also enjoy the occasional tortilla.

rather bland tasting...but a good wrap to use around left over burpeto's as my husband calls them

I like them every once in a while. But I normally don't eat bread with every meal.

I live in Texas too and we eat it with lots of meals..I've found I like it better than bread on a lot of things..Like tuna .makes a much better sandwich than bread..also we serve it with soups and stews if I don't have ingredients for cornbread.

The Whitey's call 'em "wraps" now...we brownies think a wrap is rolling papers or a blunt!

i know white people that eat torts with their meals when they make mexican food, or they warm them and put some butter in the middle. Not totally uncommon. That's like asking if white people eat steamed rice, or if it's just an asian thing.

i am white and I never eat tortillas

Tons of white people eat tortillas... however they're usually flour... what's up with that?
