Is there lard in any type of crisco shortening? If so, what kind of animal fat (which animal is it from)?!

Question: I searched and searched online for the ingredients of crisco shortening, and I can't find anything! :-(

Thanks in advance. :-)

The can of Crisco says right on it 100% vegatable shortning. So unless there is an animal called vegatable, the answer is no.

Shortening is a hydrogenated vegetable oil. It is not an animal product - meaning no lard.

100& hydrogenated (trans fat) vegetable oil. If you want a shortening that is not trans fat, look for palm oil shortening in the health food aisles of the grocery store. It is more expensive, but maybe healthier (but maybe higher saturated fats).
