Why are the hairs on chicken wings not unappealing to people?!

Question: Everyone hates a hair found in their soup and personally when i have found the odd one i cannot eat the rest of that dish but when they are still on the skins on chicken wings no one cares and some people will just eat them although they are on the skin.

So why arnt people too bothered about hairs on the wings?

they are just pieces of the feather that didn't get plucked- they don't hurt anything, so why not just eat them

i hate to tell you this, but if you've ever eaten a roasted chicken from your local grocery store, those things have feathers on them too - so does the chicken that they sell in the meat department - it's just not possible to get all those tiny little feathers off of there, unless you do it yourself

its not hair
is a FEATHER, but the sauce has made it look like a striaght piece... its actually the end of the feather that wasnt plucked

I am the same hate hair in food, that is why in some kitchens they have to wear a hair net.
Since when do you find feathers in your cooked chicken wings?

I think those are feathers not hair lol.

well, because they are chicken hairs, not some skanky waitress' hair. plus, in order to get the hair off the chicken wing they put it into scalding hot water and then pluck it off. some of it stays behind but for the most part it gets taken off. the scalding water kills a lot of bacteria from the hair and cooking does the rest. i hope that answers your question!

well, you're always sure the those feathers were cooked along with the chicken. this may not be true of hair. it could have landed there when it is being served, and therefore you can't ensure that it is clean.

Well its not hair is a feather wisker. But I'm not really that grossed out about it. Really depends on the lenght.

I think it's gross looking. I don't eat chicken wings anymore. And that's why. If I do eat them, I pick forever at the meat and it's not even worth it. I much rather prefer a nice chicken breast.
