probably battery chicken. no exercise lots of drugs and as somebody else has pointed out lots of meat is pumped full of water.
but as Delia smith says its still yummy and helps the poor get a good feed

Overfeeding and no exercise plus tonnes of growth hormones.

water i think.

they inject it into the chicken somehow.

overfeeding and lack of exercise, plus breeding for this feature

Genetically modified chicken , growth hormones , and on topof all that ,most meats for sale have been treated with a process called brining with...you guessed it , adds moisture(read water)sometimes up to 15% more weight , sneaky huh?You should see the large breasts i can order through Sysco , I've seen them up to 18 ounces!!!

Karen B is correct, along with air. When the thing was cooked was it flat chested like an elderly maiden aunt?

The suggestion of genetically modified is wrong. Not approved for sale anywhere yet.
The biggest factor is breeding. Then diet and age. Yes they probably do have some water added.

the chicken is fed on fattering food to put weight on you were lucky to have big ones i never get them from icelands or small ones
