How much salt would you put in a pound of pinto beans for it to taste ok?? Not too salty!?!

Question: Well, the question doesn't include this critical information... Are you cooking dried beans or are you using canned beans?

If you are using canned, don't add salt because they are already super salty.

If you are using dried and are cooking them, DO NOT add salt until the end. Putting salt in before they are done will make them take longer to cook and they won't be soft. Once they are done, I would add about 1 tsp salt, taste it and add more according to what your tastebuds are telling you.
