How many prunes is too many prunes?!

Question: I'm eating them because I enjoy their flavour, not because I want to get a trip on the express train to butt-town.

However, I am fearful of eating more than 2 or 3 in a sitting for fear of the results. How many prunes is it "safe" to consume without fear of any repurcussions?

I am a former chef and I would say you will know your limit, 2-3 is fine, 4-6 is a bit much, more I would not want to try, and it depend on the size to, the smaller one like the U.S brand SunSweet are not large, I buy larger ones, and prune juice is prunes cooked in water and pureed.

When I worked in a few hotel as a chef, I use to sneak some of the stewed ones at night when I was alone or doing the inventory check, they are great, in a bit of syrup with a bit of lemon and orange peel, cinnimon stick and just brought to the boil in a bit of water, no sugar, and then let rehydrate, so enjoy what your eating, I eat 4-6 a day or stewed in the morning and it has not been a problem, but I live alone??

i drunk a glass of prune juice once when i was constipated
it worked wonders but it was just 1 glass...
so i wouldnt eat more than 2

Everyone is different but I'd say you're right that about 2-3/day would be maximum. Watch out if they're dried because then they're more concentrated but it's easier to eat more of them!
Same goes for really ripe cherries... but everyone has a different "threshold" ....haha
It's recommended to get about 25 g fiber/day so consider how much other fiber you're getting in your diet on top of the prunes :)

are you in the potty yet you otta be.to many all ready.

You could always experiment on your days off, they give you a good run for your money.

It is too many when you are crapping out your insides. lol
