Where does the suger come from in milk?!
Answers: In non-fat milk, there is no sugar in the ingredients, but it says there is 13 grams of sugar in a cup of milk? Where does the sugar come from? Is it from other ingredients which are changed to sugar? Thanks.
The sugar they speak of is Lactose, which is simply a natural ingredient of all milk:
"...Lactose (also referred to as milk sugar) is a sugar which is found most notably in milk. Lactose makes up around 2–8% of milk (by weight). The name comes from the Latin word for milk, plus the -ose ending used to name sugars. Its systematic name is β-D-galactopyranosyl-(1?4)α-D-glucopyran...
naturally.....aka lactose
It is from the glucose in the animal, or the cow. It is natural glucose sugar and is digested differently and a small bit more completely than table sugar.
honestly i don't know but if i was you i wouldn't drink cow milk....go to soy milk...there's also non fat...no sugar added w/zero sugar and it's non dairy!
Lactose.
Yep yep, lactose.
