Heard about the Spaghetti shortage?!

Question: Apparently Italian farmers have changed to growing crops for biofuel instead of Pasta

Answers: Apparently Italian farmers have changed to growing crops for biofuel instead of Pasta

this was a big story in Italy last month when 14% increases to pasta prices were announced.

In England bread has risen 35% in the last year. And beer is projected to rise by as much as 45% by the end of 2008

I think they are stringing you along!!!!!!!!!!

There is a growing market for bio diesel because it is good for the environment and there is a lot of money to be made at it.

Sounds about right. They seem to be doing that in most country's now. Makes you think when will all the other products like feed for farm animals will be not grown or few will be. Then the price for feed will go up and then the meat in stores will then.

More money for BIG OIL!

i hope not. i gotta have my pasta. do you suppose we will eventually have to take to the streets to score some angel hair like they do for drugs now?

You can always make your own. Tastes great too. : )

I wouldn't be surprised about that. It's about time something was done about the state of the environment, however small. Are you pulling my leg...............? I've just realised I might be making a twat of myself by giving this question a serious answer. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though :s

crazy horse!!!!!!!
wot do u do at weekends that make u come up with these questions...wot i now call ''Nev's crazy hour' which tends to be early sun morning....late Saturday night....depends on how ya look at it.....keep being crazzzy xx

I know that the price of the commodity pasta is going up (work for a school district), could be true!

growing crops for bio fuels will take up the land needed for growing other crops as well as clearing jungles when the planet is suffering from carbon emissions.
