Hershey Chocolates??!

Question: I heard these were made in sweat shops. Is that true??

Also, are they tested on animals? I know the Mars products are, but I'm not sure about these or any other ones.

I figure that they are made in the USA---due do transportation of foods;
which means they are unlikely to be made in sweat shops.

There are also qustions of quality.
A broken Chinese-made trinket is obvious;
food that could make you sick: less so.

As for animal testing;
I doubt their formulas have changed;
thus I doubt they were tested on animals;
and if they were, the consequences were likely less grave for the animals:
it's one thing to add a little more/less sugar/cocoa/oil;
quite another for changing the chemical analogues in some, say, cosmetic.

Whats a sweat shop?

I thought they were made at the Hershey Factory In Pa.

well, I don't care where they are made. If it is a sweat shop (if you're thinking like child labor) then great! At least those kids are making money their family needs!
How do you know Mars products are made in sweat shops?! Mars started out in Tacoma, WA!

Maybe the clothing products are made from a sweat shop which to those who may not know what a sweat shop may be is a place where under aged employees work in horrible conditions which wouldn't be any worse than working at McDonald's or Burger King. A job is a job and one must survive to eat and live, right? As for the chocolates are made at the factory in PA, USA. If they do test their chocolates with animals than it's okay with me as humans can get fat from eating it. Okay, not a humanity thing to say but someone has to do the job and make money so why worry about Hershey when you have other chocolate company in other countries that may have worse conditions.
