Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?!

ha ha good point i never thought of that.....but its probably because real lemons have acid in them which cuts through grease etc whereas for eating you only really need the flavour not the acid so i guess thats why. it would be nice to have the real stuff to eat though.

Because people need dishwashing liquid more, and hence, more money. Because they have more money, they can use real lemons. Plus, who wants to use lemon juice when you can just squeeze a lemon?

I have no solution for the juice but lemons have excellent cleaning properties The acid in the lemons are able to clean a lot of surfaces:eg sinks, stoves and baths

i think that you will find most cleaning materials that say they have 'real lemons' in them actually contains oils from a tree called a citron, not neccesarily the correct spelling, the lemons from this tree actually contain very little juice but the pith and rind contain very large quantiities of the concentrated essential lemon oils used in the food and chemical industry. you will find that the lemon juice flavours that you come across actually do contain lemon juice but also other chemicals to accentuate the lemon flavours.
