When turning the tap on, do you use the hot or cold option most often?!

Question: Far and away, I use cold water more often---or at least, gallon-for-gallon---than hot water, when it comes to actually turning the faucet. I work in a kitchen, and most of the water I use for cooking is cold. That's because if I'm cooking something---boiling pasta, for example---I want to start with cold water. Hot water (from the tap) contains a lot more dissolved solids and chemicals, and I don't want to pass along those flavors to my foods.

When cleaning up afterward, I do use hot water in the dishwasher. But that water isn't from the tap.
