Answers: Why / Why Not?
Thanks for answering! :)
I believe fast food outlets are a fast track to obesity because they really do not offer quality products and many of them offer little in reguard to healthier choices for consumers. Obviously, the goal is profit, so in my experience working in fast food, I have noted the ingredients in many items are mostly fillers, salts, fats and sugars. Even the meats are of a lower quality and treated for flavour and freshness.
Also, the prices and deals offered by many fast food outlets are attractive to consumers. Many people negate health over price, as there are few healthy choices offered at affordable prices.
By comparison, a $1.00 cheeseburger seems more filling than an apple and a $0.59 cents cup of yogurt at the market. It is also far more convenient, as they provide the food to you inside your car or inside their unit, whereas at a grocery you would have to hunt for your lunch.
No, because people make the choice of where and what to eat.:)
Yes I do...but you can blame the industry...because the demand for fatty food exist and the consumer has a choice.
It is a multi billion dollars a year industry getting people fat...so is the Diet pill industry...they work together, i rekon
Of course it is, the number one protein served at fast food restaurants is beef. this causes heart problems and not to mention cholesterol. Eat food high in omega 3 fats such as Salmon and finish your meal with a salad. It helps flush out your system.
yes i believe so. people have grown used to eating these kinds of food and have lost sense of how bad they are for us. an occassional burger and fries is ok, but some people just don't realize their limits to eating these or eating more healthy food, and that's the problem that leads these fast food industries to be obesity and health problem sources. the moment people stop feeding this industry with their demand is when they'll realize that they need better and healthier lifestyles.
I don't believe they directly cause the obesity issues. I feel it PROVIDES a vehicle to obesity and bad health but it's the person who decides what to buy and eat. People need to think more before buying food and putting food in their mouths. It's way TOO easy to grab a couple of bucks and run to the drive-thru. There are some good choices at some of the fast food restaurants so they aren't all bad but you have to make a concious decision to pick the healthier choices.
its a matter of choice really because some fastfoods have healthier options...
but i think between a yes and a no... it would be a YES! talk about temptation! all those greasy, oily fried stuff, plus all those fat, all those excessive calories... but fastfood taste good, feels good... i just try not to go often and work out! its sinful really!
yes because they make it too convenient with drive thru's and "dollar menus" and also the advertisements make ppl want their products along with seasonal items (for example- most major fast food places like mcdonalds, burger king, wendys are advertising their fish sandwiches because it is Lent.)
