Pampered Chef Pizza stone?!
Answers: A coworker is moving and gave me one they never used. I have never had one is there something i need to do to it? Like preheat oil it etc.
I don't have the pizza stone, but I do have the casserole bowl, lid, loaf pan and a few other stones from pampered chef. The more you use it, the more seasoned it will get. (Brown ugly color in this case is good) NO preparations are needed, it bakes everything to a wonderful texture. I love my stoneware from PC. The only rules I go by on my stoneware (and everyone in my family knows, NO SOAP!) Sounds gross, but don't use soap since its so pourous - it will give your food an awful soapy taste. Just use the small scrapy plastic brown square that comes with it and if you didn't get the scraper, use a sharp metal spatula to scrape the stone under water when washing. You don't need to prep it in the oven with oil or anything like that. Enjoy it, its a great addition to your kitchen - NO I don't sell PC products, just happen to love them and believe in them. If your looking for more info you should be able to find it www.pamperedchef.com.
I have the same stone and the only thing I do different is preheat the stone with the oven. I still hit it w/ cooking spray and hand wash it etc just like a regular baking sheet.
Use it the same way you would a cookie sheet. The only difference is you can't let it soak in soapy water. Wash it with soap, but don't soak, or it will absorbe the soap into the stone.

The only thing is do not use soap on the stone. When you wash it only use water and let it dry. You think it won't get clean , but it does. A light spray of oil, then cook on it. After a while you won't have to use oil, unless the recipe calls for it.
I have a pizza stone and use it constantly to make pizza.
Although it's also good to make pita breads, other breads and cookies on.
NOTES/TIPS:
- do not wash in soapy water as it will taint the stone. Merely wash in warm water and allow to air dry.
- do not oil it.
- the stone will get "stains" on it - this is fine, it is almost like seasoning it.
- do not let it get from one extreme heat to another, otherwise it will crack.
To make pizza - I preheat the oven, with the pizza stone on the bottom most shelf rack at 550F for at least 45 minutes. Then I turn down the temperature to 500F to bake my pizza. It only takes 6-7 minutes for my 10-12 inch thin crust home made pizza to cook. It will result in the crispiest, delicious pizza you've ever had.
