best was my dads,we had a chipshop in staveley, chesterfield quite a few years ago, wish i had the batter recipe, even though it was brought in big bags, the fish and chips were amazing.

The Magpie in Whitby.

"Tates" in Boston Lincolnshire, they won several national annual awards,,,,you just have to queue for ages but they do have a restaurant,,,

Chip n Tails in Hythe in the New Forest, very good fish, also, there is a place in Poole Harbour which I cant remember the name too, lovely by the sea.

Sea Pebbles in Hatch End! They have won awards! the worst fish and chips was harry ramsdens which I had been told would be the best ever but it was awful!!

I know there are plenty in the UK (and my local here in hampshire is brill!) but the best fish and chips I have EVER tasted has got to be Doyles Fish Restaurant in Watson Bay, Sydney, Australia.

If you ever find yourself there do go ... it is scrumptious!!!

it was a fish and chip shop on the redcar sea front they were really nice im pretty sure its because the fish is fresher i live in the west midlands so the fish we get here has been frozen for transporting

Mother kelly's in Porchester, Hampshire.

Aloha from Down Unda!
Fish n Chips are so very generic world-wide that it's so much more satisfying to buy & broil frozen food at home.
Everywhere 'fish & chips' are served:
~unacceptable delays
~unacceptable people
~unacceptable prices
~insuffient salt!
Go figger!
Fish is fish in any venue & hot greasy fish & potatoes isn't even smart...
but that's why broiled fish with a fresh salad at HOME is the best 'fish & chips' ever!
Best wishes

Pargeters in Ipswich

The greek chippy down my road in chesterfield.

The chippy in boldon colliery Tyne and wear is excellent, never ever had bad fish and chips from there. the Fish is thick and fresh and has no skin or bones, lovely batter, the chips are always really nicely golden, not anemic looking and the portion is huge, they have to put it in a pizza box! Hard to beat x
