where i work they went up to 79 cents

I love M&M's peanuts and they have always been expensive, although my store recently had a sale on them. The store is called Smith's in Las Vegas.

My grandparent talk about the "good old days" when chocolate bars were 5 cents. I haqven't noticed their prices going up recently though.

yea a hershey bar went from 60 cents to 85 cents where im at!(but only at one store)

In the early 80s you could buy a candy bar and a can of coke for 50 cents.

I think the reason many things have jumped is due to the gas prices going up. It costs more for them to get their product to market now.

I believe the price of almost everything has risen. Less then five years ago a bag of crisps (chips) were around 30p/35p, now they are averaging on 50p.

Cans of pop (soda) are similar. Its a combination of higher producing costs (i.e. gas, oil etc) higher minimum wages and the burden of proving products are healthy, ethical etc and the simple fact that people are paying.

Also the price of everything rises, on average, by 2.5% a year in the UK (that's the official government figure. In reality it is closer to 8%).

in spanish, it's called "inflación" which means that due to economic reasons the prices raise. and yes, candy has raised prices, which is really AWFUL! cuz i love candy too... peppermint and those huge lollipops mostly, but i used to buy tiny peppermint candy for like 10 cents... but now i buy 'em for 25!! cents...
