Arizona hot dog? Would you try it? (Ingredients in details)?!
Answers: A hot dog grilled in a processor or on a griddle. Then wrapped in Mesquite-smoked bacon. Topped with freshly-chopped tomatoes, onions, shredded yellow or cotijo cheese, tomatillo salsa or red chile sauce, pinto beans, mayonnaise, ketchup and/or mustard, and served on a bread. Often served with a fresh-roasted chile.
ya, but not from any of the vendors around here selling from their little mexican food carts~~~ Love, Phoenix Native.
PS..Rule of thumb, authentic, go to a place that at least has an address where FDA can send warnings to. Carts are out. Seen them and I just keep driving. I have tried them before ( cave creek & bell road if you are familliar with Phoenix). Tasted okay, but you knew from looking at it that the food had been added to and stirred for three days.
and for the record, honestly, I love authentic mexican. A real taco only comes with meat, salsa, cilantro and onions, not all that super/cali stuff they smash on them for american gringas. I ate at the food city mexican deli for lunch today down in the ghetto where I work. (cuz you can send an inspector there!)
Everything sounds good, except for the hotdog part.
Why not? I am up for the challenge. ARE YOU?
Sure, I eat it - I'd like the cotija and tomatillo salsa, no ketchup/mustard.
And definitely on the roasted chile!
HELL THAT SOUNDS BETTER THAN THE CHICAGO DOG.
Well i love the bacon idea
the beans make it taste better
and the cheese would add taste
but i hate the onions and the mustard
no tomatoes would be cool
mayonnaise is not that good
yummy lol i would try it
WAY too much stuff on it. Are you sure there is room for the hotdog? I would say keep the bacon, tomatoes, ketchup and cheese and that sounds good to me.
