Will you be fasting for Lent?!

Question: Whether it be strict fasting (no butter, oil, meat, eggs etc..) or no meat on Wednesdays and Fridays or something else?

Answers: Whether it be strict fasting (no butter, oil, meat, eggs etc..) or no meat on Wednesdays and Fridays or something else?

I'm doing no meat on Wednesdays and Fridays and no pop (soda) for all of Lent. I will strick fast on Good Friday. Last year i did no meat all of Lent, but that was really hard.

no i wont

No meat on fridays just..but then again I happen to like fish. It's no big deal for me to give that up. I do not talk for the 3 hours on GOOD friday though out of respect for that day as well as NO tv, NO phone and NO radio either then. It is just a way for me to feel that I am doing a "sacrifice" in a way. I try to do something significant during that time or feel I did.

If you didn't get ashes on your head you don't need to fast.
trust me i go to a catholic school i know this stuff.

NO i dont want to do that... sorry

Every year, I give up meat on Fridays.

I also try to give something up for the full 40 days of lent every year. Last year, I gave up sweets, which was very, very broad. I didn't realize how broad "sweets" was until I started and, go me, I actually got through all 40 days. =] Man, I didn't have any cake, brownies, cookies, candy, desserts, ANYTHING for 40 days. O_o

This year, I'm giving up cussing and sour candy. I'm a sucker for sour candy and even though I don't think I'm an extreme case when it comes to cussing, I think it's best that I tone it down anyway. It comes much too naturally, ya know? It comes much too naturally for a lot of people, more for some than others. I haven't been doing so hot on the cussing resolution because I have to really, really think about it in order to avoid it. I'm trying, though.

I know a friend who is giving up sex. My roommate gave up rice. My roommate has this thing where she only gives it up on weekdays. Last year, she gave up caffeinated drinks, but she was in the clear on weekends. I've never really heard of people doing that. At least I don't do that. I think she's giving up rice straight through all 40 days this year though. =]
