That seems more of an emotional type problem rather than a food problem. I guess it's a type of eating disorder. Or it could be something medical and not related to the psyche at all. Maybe you need to figure out what moods, situations, people, etc., might trigger this behavior. You don't mention being obsessive about weight or appearance or the need to please people, which are often associated with eating disorders. There's nothing wrong with not eating for a few hours. But before delving into all the things that could be the cause, whether emotional or medical, could it be something as simple as a bad habit behavior that you just need to change? Or is it something related to some deeper personal/emotional issues? So there's a lot to figure out before you can change that behavior. Maybe just taking some of those ideas, and working with each to figure if anything fits for your particular situation. You have the right idea.... you recognize you have a problem. So if you can figure out the root cause... maybe you can figure out how to change the behavior. Good Luck!

You need to eat meals at regular intervals throughout the day so you won't be tempted to binge. It takes 21 days for this to become a habit, so you need to keep it up for a while to see results.

well lol self control try the 6 small meals a day. it always keeps u full and betters your metabolism. in the morning keep hi fiber in your diet then go maybe it a fruit later and so on lol and always keep more protein in the after noon.

just snack on something about every time you want to eat. Enough to tie you over, but noit too much to binge. Your body will recognize this habit and naturally balance itself. If you keep doing your binge habits, your body thinks that thats what it is supposed to do, so it gets worse.

Try to eat several small meals in a day. Chew gum or drink water to curb your cravings. Good luck.

Sounds like you need to start eating 6 meals a day, but with the proper amounts of the food groups to keep you full. http://www.sparkpeople.com/ has a helpful section where it can plan out your meals or you can enter your food choices.

eat small healthy meals through out the day, and if you dont have time to prepare them that day, prepare them the day before, or buy them.. This will prevent you from binge eating. and gaining weight.

You need to plan balanced meals w/ light snacks through out the day. This should curb the binge eating. Try to snack healthy too. You know, veggies, granola, wheat crackers etc.

yours is an interesting question! I went on a diet three years ago and found that eating 'regular meals' interfered with my body's metabolism. At the mo' I'm checking out again all the carbs, fats, proteins etc, and I'd suggest 900 calorie carbs, 400 proteins, 300 fruit, 300 milk and dairy and 200 fat and sugar for a lady and 400 more calories of your choice for a man. 'eating between meals' is a hangover from the days of eating together as a family. I eat, and that is 'eat' and not in 'meals' about six or seven times a day. I hope this helps. Good luck!

If you're like me then snacking regularly does not work, but by restricting food you are bound to be more likely to binge later on. How often do you think about food, and where? I always find that I never really think about food so long as I'm distracted doing something fun. Try eating at regular intervals, going out in between or doing something, so that the snacking does not lead to binging. Even something trivial as changing your clothes after eating or performing a little ritual can tell yourself that it's time to STOP. Eg, try making yourself count to 30 before you eat the food, by the time you're done you may not want it. Or, you could drink a glass of water after each mouthful, or lay the table before eating anything. Even if it doesn't work the first time, persistence will take care of it. Remember: binge eating is a real disorder, so don't be ashamed to talk to a doctor or a dietician if the problem continues. Good luck!x
