What type of food is edamame, what does it taste like, and is it fattening?!

Question: It's delicious! They are green soy beans. Comes in a shell like pea pods. It reminds me of lima beans, but has a unique flavor. It's also known as Beer Bean or Moa Dou and is pronounced eh- dah-MAH-meh and is known as an hors d' oeuvre in the Asian cultures. You can use them in stir-frys, soups, salads or eat fresh as a snack. They are low in sodium, low in fat and are cholesterol free. There are about 90 calories in a 1/2 cup serving, 3 g of fat, 30 mg sodium, 9 g carbs, 4 dietary fiber and less than a gram of sugar. 8 grams of protein. We are actually going to have them for lunch today:) My husband loves them too and he's a picky eater!

Edamame is soy beans, it tastes very nasty and yes it can be fattening. Soy beans are for animal consumption not human.
