My Peanut Butter was semi-runny when I first opened the jar....(see details pls)?!

Question: I stuck it in the fridge overnight (I usually don't refrigerate PB) and now it is not as thin, but it's not really thick either.

It has no salt or sugar added, could this contribute to its non-thick state?

Just stir it. It's probably that the oil rose to the top, making it appear runny. But the bottom is probably hard as a rock. So just stir it well with a spoon and it should be back to its normal consistency.

ummm

Is it labeled "natural" or something else to indicate it's not highly processed? Natural peanut butter separates really easily. The oil will come to the top, making it appear runny. Have you tried stirring it really well? Definitely keep it in the fridge now that it's open, to keep it from going rancid.

oil separated..................

The oil separates out of organic type pent butters. Just stir it.

Natural or organic PB's are basically ground Peanuts and oil( with no stabilizers ). Your best bet is to either take it back to the store or leave it on your counter for a day or two. It should separate by this time . Then just drain off the oil into a measuring cup. stir the PB and slowly add oil until you get the thickness you like. If it's not natural or organic take it back or use it for something like peanut sauce for Chicken Satay ( no sugar/no salt PB is perfect for that and you thin it out anyway)

stir it up---hahahahahaha
